The internal medicine department at ACC knows how to handle puzzling diagnostic problems as well as severe chronic disease.
Veterinarians who focus on internal medicine are known as internists. They have postdoctoral training focusing on the prevention, management and treatment of complex diseases. Internists are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings -- no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. The staff includes board-certified internists, and other care providers. They are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time.
